Chapter 2: Could this be LOVE?

After a thoughtful night, John got ready to go to office. It was really difficult for him to face dad and Sam. Oh! Did I forget to mention that John is one of the employees in my dad’s office and Sam & John are looking after a same project under my dad’s supervision. At the time of getting ready for office many things were going on in his mind and he was a bit confused to how to face my dad and brother and also how to react to the wish which my dad has posed in front of him during last night.

When he reached office, he pretended to be normal as nothing has happened and also did not initiated the talk with any of them. Neither my dad nor my brother bothered him with any questions and his view in terms of dad’s last night wish. So the day at office went as normal and majorly occupying all three of them with the official work only.

On the way back home John had to meet Sheena. They met at the pre-decided place. During the meeting, Sheena could make out that there is something wrong with John so she went on enquiring and started asking different set of questions to confirm if there is everything all right with John or not. After some serious talks and gestures, John told Sheena about the last night incidence and how awkward situation he has been put in by his uncle. Sheena also got some depressed after hearing what John has to share. Her depression was normal as she knew that John can never let down his uncle’s wish and if forced, he will end up marrying me instead of her. Due to this serious atmosphere, they could not stay together for more time and decided to move back to their homes little early than decided. John was to drop Sheena to her place, so she managed to sit in the front seat of John’s car whereas John was still not able to take his eyes off from her face coz this is for the first time she was crying silently in front of him and the only reason was John. Somehow he managed to convince her to stop crying and assured her about their togetherness by hugging her tightly and placing a kiss on her forehead. This gave her a bit of assurance and the loving and caring attitude of John towards her could not restrained her from being equally possessive and loving towards him. So she returned the hug with equal passion as a gesture to assure him that she knows he will manage a way out of this puzzled situation.

Few days flew by and the only thing John wanted was not to initiate the talk about this matter with uncle or for that matter with anyone. Sheena on the other hand was getting insecure about John with each passing day coz none of them knew what is cooking up in his uncle’s mind now and what is the reason behind his silence. I was also kind of ignoring John since that day and he also had stop coming to our house which was a regular exercise prior to that incidence.

Based on that, which was normal also, Sheena wanted John to leave working for his uncle and find another job for him. In this way he could stay away from him and also can avoid his favours to some extent. John also wanted to stay away from my family and me now. Coz he doesn’t want to face any more awkward situations. So he also decided to find a better opportunity for him and immediately after that he had a plan to go to Sheena’s parents for asking them for her to be his life partner.

Today, John is supposed to visit an organization for an interview. The post they have offered is very impressive and also a well-paid one. Along with that, if he joins the same, he will be getting good perks and a chance to visit the globe. So Sheena is praying with all her heart and John is preparing himself to the best of his capabilities to grab the opportunity in its first go. Whereas, my dad and Sam are clueless about this step of John and hence they are also not aware of the fact that why is he absent from work today? This is happening for the first time that John hasn’t come to work without prior permission or any intimation. This brought worry to all in the office. Everyone is hoping for all well at his end.

Out of some tension, my dad asked Sam to give John a call and enquire about his well-being. But to the surprise of everyone, John’s cell was off and no one picked the call at his home’s landline also. This is when the tension among all shoot up and made everyone feel all the worst possible. This is the time my dad realized that whatever he has posed as his wish was not right and may be John’s disappearance is coz of that. Now dad decide to call Sheena to ask about John’s coordinates and somehow to judge their reactions to his wish.

From Sheena, dad got a shock of his life. She told him that John is appearing for an interview and that is the reason he could not make it to office today. This is when his doubt got confirmed that it is all happening because of him. Would he never showed his willingness to getting John and I married, John would never have taken this step? Now he is realizing that how suffocated John must have been feeling since the time he knew about my wish.
